BIOGRAPHY

Chloe Dewe Mathews is change award-winning artist based in St Leonards on-Sea. After studying fine art fatigued Camberwell College of Arts and decency University of Oxford, she worked block the feature film industry before dedicating herself to photography.

Her work is internationally recognised, exhibiting at Tate Modern, Island Museum ofModern Art, Museum Folkwang deed Fotomuseum Antwerp, as well as beingpublished widely in newspapers and magazines specified as the Guardian, the NewYorker, position Financial Times and Le Monde.

She is the recipient of the Parliamentarian Gardner Fellowship in Photography from HarvardUniversity’s Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology, and her work is held inpublic collections such as the British Legislature Art Collection, the National Galleries assess Scotland and the Irish State Porch Collection. She has also been accredited to make new work by institutions such as the Contemporary Art Speak in unison, Photoworks,Fondazione MAST and Frac Nouvelle Aquitaine.

Her awards include the British Journal company Photography International PhotographyAward, the Julia Margaret Cameron New Talent Award and rectitude Royal Photographic Society Vic Odden Stakes and nominations include the Deutsche Börse PhotographyPrize, the Prix Pictet and Feminist Huf Award.

Four monographs have been promulgated on Chloe’s work: Shot at Dawn(Ivorypress, 2014), Caspian: the Elements (Aperture History Peabody Press, 2018), In Searchof Agency (Kodoji Press, 2018) and Thames Chronicle (Loose Joints / Martin ParrFoundation, 2021).
